“Winter Flying”

Learn the ins and outs of winter flying. Where will you find ice and how do you handle flight into inadvertent icing.

December 19, 2013
“Aircraft Accidents”

Learn the causes of aircraft accidents. Actual aircraft accidents will be reviewed along with the subsequent investigations that took place to determine the cause of the accident.  Intriguing photos and data will be available.

January 23. 2014 
“Airspace Refresher”

The presentation will focus on airspace in the Chicago area and the many pitfalls of flying in this area. It will also address TFRs.

February 20, 2014 
Aviation Wannabee Seminar

Learn what it takes to get a Pilots license and how you can get your wings.

March 20, 2014 
“Operations at Towered and Non-towered Airports”

The presentation will be focused on operations at non towered airports and will discuss standard procedures, and practices that should be followed to make flying safe.

April 24, 2014 
“GPS Navigation and New Technology”

The presentation will look at GPS navigation and some of the new equipment available to general aviation.

May 22, 2014
“Getting back into Flying”

The presentation will focus on what you need to do to get back into flying, whether its been a long winter break, a few years since you have been in the air, or a medical concern that has kept you grounded. We will review current requirements, BFR requirements, the Sport Pilot regulation, and other options.

June 19, 2014  
“Ups and Downs of Takeoffs and Landings”

The presentation will look at the methods and procedures of making smooth landings under both good and bad conditions.

July 17,2014  

The presentation will look at the weather associated with the summer months and how best to negotiate the storms to make your trip comfortable and safe.
